It’s all about you...

About Us

not just another coffeehouse...

It took me 10 years to finish my degree.  I started right after high school and then met my husband and decided to get married and move to Europe. (I am not quite sure if my parents have forgiven me for dropping out of college, marrying, and moving to Europe all of the young age of 19!)

On my 25th birthday, I woke up and realized that I would never get ahead unless I settled down and finished school.  I knew the degree would provide more opportunities for my future.

moved to Utah with the military and I settled down and focused on school.  I wanted to make money, so I thought I needed to major in Business.  I knew I was really good at communicating, but I thought to myself, “Who makes any money in communicating?!”

I struggled in economics, accounting, quant, etc.  I excelled in projects and presentations, but could not get interested in any of these subjects.  I watched others get excited and have deep conversations about quantitative approaches and accounting princiles.

Then one day, my professor who saved my life, Dr. Stephen H. Russell, Professor of Business and Economics, Weber State University.  He pulled me aside and said, “Beth, you will succeed in anything you do, but you will never be happy as an accountant…you need to go to the Communication Department and expand your talent.”

The next day, I headed for the Communications Department and never looked back.  I grew and expanded my knowledge, talents, and opportunities.  Thanks to Dr. Sheree Josephson-who taught me how to write and Larry Stahle-who taught me to believe in myself and to create my own destiny?

I love to talk, write, talk, and coming up with creative ideas, talk, marketing, talk and having fun.  Life is too short to be miserable!

I worked as a freelance marketer right after college and then we moved again.  I decided that I needed to get into the corporate world (because I thought…That is where the money is at!)  I loved my jobs-notice jobs is plural- but I could never stay committed.  I was always searching for the missing link in my heart.

After 3 years of an internal struggle and researching how other women found these “perfect” jobs that allowed them to work from home, be a mother, wife and career woman with a compassionate and understanding boss- I realized that this did not exist for me in Boise, Idaho.

February 2002, I had my last interview- I made it to the final 2 and lost out to someone who had 10 years experience in the field.  I decided that was it…no one was going to make me feel inadequate again and I was not going to wait around for someone else to fulfill my career desires!

I began researching and journaling my thoughts, actions, talents, knowledge, strengths and weaknesses.

June 2002- I knew what I wanted to do, but was scared to death.  I started fumbling my way through books, processes, experts, bankers, and so on.  Each step I took, I got a little closer.  I was focused, determined, excited and terrified. And thanks to my supportive best friend and husband of 15 years-I pressed forward no matter what.

July 2002-Found out that I was pregnant with our 2nd child

August 2002-MeTime Coffeehouse was born and financing secured

September 2002-Lease and building plans finalized

October 2002-Left my $$$$ job

November 2002-TI’s began and checks started being written all over the place-Yes, this is when panic sets in!

December 2002- 7 months pregnant--celebrated my 35th birthday and
                            MeTime Coffeehouse opened its doors

To be happy! And to ALWAYS live my life with integrity and honesty.  I will live my dreams and be the best mother, wife and business woman possible.

And by the way- my comments on finding a job where the money is….I have never been so in debt and so elated at the same time!  I have found true happiness and love getting up every morning-no matter what the day brings me!

Some days are good and others are bad and others are really bad-but I keep reminding myself that I have to have these days because when I am finally invited to be on Oprah, I have to have a good story to tell.

“It’s All about you-my customers!”  You could be dead tomorrow, but at least you gave yourself some MeTime today.

I wanted to create a place where everyone felt welcome.  And even for just a moment, they are able to take a deep breath and exhale.

At my coffeehouses, I listen, my employees listen and we treat everyone as friends.  Even the ones, who forget to leave their attitude at the door.  Every one (Customer and Employees) are equals in MeTime and we welcome back REAL Customer Service to the industry.

“What you give out is what you get back”

I want to be a role model and encourage each one of my employees to follow their heart and their dreams. We work around class schedules and  working mothers.   I want each one of my employees to look back at their time at MeTime and know that they were appreciated and supported in any of their endeavors.

It’s all about you...
